North East Stories -Research- Jeff Wall

Looking at his work I cant tell if they are real life or staged but the ones that you can tell are staged im not sure why he wanted that image in pacific  they do seam to be more single images rather than a collection of images.
For eg in the image below im not sure what he wanted to tell us in this image and why he wanted to stage this in this way. It has left me a little confused.

The one below when I first saw it I thought it was street photography and he had been lucky to have captured it but I later found out it was staged from something he saw and memorised. So I can understand why he wanted to recreate this. I would want to do this if I missed something that I had saw I would have been kicking myself that I didn't have my camera at the ready.
