Joe Deal -landscape Photography-Research

Joe Deal was an American photographer who specialized in depicting how the landscape was transformed by people. He was one of nine photographers that chosen to participate in the "New Topographics Photographs of a Man-Altered Landscape after this he continued to photography man altered land.

I really like this photograph, I like the idea he had at first you just see the dark hole but in the middle of a cliff wall and you think nothing of it, once you realise what type of photography he was know for it all becomes clear and becomes a different photo. It becomes a photo of destruction and how rough and natural the cliff wall is and how the hole is so perfectly round indicating a machine...I really like it

I like this photo too, I like the way it makes me think into them as you see in this picture you see trees fields and a road carving its way through the landscape but to me this photo focus more on the trees and how man has planted them to either replenish nature or just to make the scenery look nice. But it is not natural they are all in perfect lines and equally spaced and makes me think why we plant trees like this nature isn't perfect so why are we trying to make it perfect.

This photo to me shows the beauty of nature and this feeling gives me a feeling of beauty and how eager  we are to over take it and a feeling of hording and running like vultures round a carcass and how desperate we are to get our own bit of paradise pushing and shoving each other till we get what we need.

I really enjoyed looking at this photographers work  to me I thought his pictures spoke volumes to me and I liked the way it made me look at the pictures from natures point of view.

The images above are not mine and belong to Joe Deal.
