Ansel Easton Adams was an American photographer and environmentalist. His black-and-white landscape photographs of the American West, especially Yosemite National Park, have been widely reproduced on calendars, posters, and in books.
I find this picture really beautiful I love the dark stormy clouds coming an with the snow capped mountains and the river windings its way round. I feel I could sit looking at this picture for hours it makes me feel peaceful and has a very different feel to the other photographers works I have been looking at with the urban life in with them. This is what I imagined landscape photography would look like. I very much like this picture you can almost feel how cold that river is.
This picture to me gives a real sense of strength and power. The way the clouds are rising over the mountain tops they look so thick and fluffy but full of danger I feel I would need to cower in a corner if I was stood taking this picture. I found I only really looked at the cloud and not the surroundings on the picture I love the depth of that he has given to emphasise the size of the cloud by taking it so far away to make everything else look tiny.
This picture give me the feeling of peace and warmth . I love the position of the photo and the way he has used the trees to frame this. I do find that my eye settles on the bridge more than the reflection as a matter of fact it was the last thing I noticed and that was only because I read the tittle, Burt with this picture I feel you are drawn to the most thing you find peaceful. Again like the other pictures I like the feeling this picture gives me and makes me feel happy.
I really like Ansels work I love the depth he creates in his pictures and I especially love the way he has the contrast in his pictures as I really feel this really helps make the pictures come alive.
The above pictures are not mine and belong to Ansel Adams
