Professional studies

Im not sure if this is what is needed to wrote for my professional studies research, But i have come to the relisation that i can not move forward in porfolios, or taking pictures of tattoo for someones bussiness page for his tattoo shop, or doing wedding photography which i have been asked to do 2 weddings with out the right equipment. So i have decided i need a new camera. But this is not so easy to just to go out and but as i have become obseced with the shapness on some of the cameras i have seen and used. I have recently been told that it is the lens that give the look i desire which is very confusing as ive been told not to buy a camera with the kit lens and to buy a lens that has thick lens glass in it. Then i have been told that sometimes the kit lens aree good so i am very confused and really scared to go out and buy a camera as if i dont het the look im after i could very well cry. I also need a white vinyn back drop as the one i have bought is a white cloth one that is folded and i cannot get the creases out of it and it just looks cheap and nasty. I also invested in the wrong type of studio light so i need to buy the right one that will give my little projects i have the right look. So to come across professional i will need to address these issues before i attempt anything else. This will also benifit my next step in what i want to do in the industry.
